As of now, I am still waiting to hear back about the last series that I showed on the blog in order to find out if I should do several small series, such as the last one, or possibly do one series with a collection of philosophical views and tie them all together.
Either way I have been reading up on the philosophers, right now I am looking at Epictetus, who believed in stoicism, and Marx, the creator of Marxism and supporter of communism. I feel comfortable with what I know about these two philosophers but I would like to hear some feedback to figure out how these are going to be presented before I go to far.

I am a little confused as to what the purpose of the images is... Are they digital mock ups, or reference photos that you like the ideas of? The technique looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to the project about the people?
sorry it took me so long to get back to you, internet connection was an issue. Alright, so these are hand drawn from the drawing class I had last semester that I just applied color to, mainly just to see how they went over before I got too far into the project. I decided to change because I didn't feel like there was enough of a positive reaction to the last concept. I am very interested in philosophy and want to use symbolism to show philosophers views, which is what those 3 drawings are about, they were just to practice it though, there is going to be development in mood to bring more interest to the images. I will also interact my thoughts and feelings of each philosophers view, which will help set the mood in each image. As of now I think I will be presenting them in several series of 3, each series about 2 philosophers, one image of each view then a third representing an argument between them, where I will include my thoughts whose view I agree with the most.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds intresting. It sounds like you have a strong idea and will be doing your research. I think it will be importent to include your personal views and reactions into the work, like you mentioned, but don't be too literal.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck!
